Vitamix 5200 Blender Review

I used to hate blenders.  The kind you used in college when you were trying to make margaritas.  They just kind of gnawed on the ice and you always ended up with big chunks that never got completely gnawed.

A few years ago, I got a VitaMix 5200. It’s like you crossed one of those tired ass blenders from my college days with an Evinrude Outboard Motor.  This is a serious blender. Plantain pancake batter- no problem. Salsa Verde- no sweat. And it takes smoothies to a whole ‘nuther level. Quarter an apple – core and all, add some ice, a little kale, some plain yogurt and just a trace amount of monk fruit powder or a squirt of honey – look out.

I bought the dry container as well and that’s been a nice discovery. I make buckwheat pancakes. Grab some whole buckwheat at Whole Foods – throw a cup of it in the dry container and turn on the Vitamix and watch it turn it into Buckwheat Flour. Pretty cool. That weak assed blender I had in college couldn’t do that.

Enjoy!
